The Mathematics department aims to help students understand and appreciate Mathematics. It commits itself to developing the learner's ability to apply mathematical logic and reasoning in different aspects of their lives.
Our goals are :
- develop a clear understanding of fundamental concepts and procedures in mathematics.
- become mathematical problem solvers who can use the problem solving methods in other academic areas.
- use the language of mathematics and communicate mathematical results both orally and in writing.
- appreciate the role of mathematics in sciences, humanities and in the real world, and value mathematics as a long life activity.
- become confident of their ability to do mathematics.
- use a variety of technological tools to carry out operations, to represent information, and to judge, when such tools are helpful.
